Theoretical calculation of on-site grinding time

It is known that the daily processing capacity is 600 tons.

Ball mill model: 2736 overflow type

Ball mill V is effective at 18.3m3

Back sand ratio: 300%

Filling rate: 40%

Grinding concentration 70%

Ore density A is 2.65

The liquid-solid ratio R is 0.43

Then: Q new = 0.42 tons / min Q total = 4 * 0.42 = 1.68 tons / min

V pulp = Q total * (R + 1 / A) = 1.35 m3 / min It is assumed that the ore is continuously discharged from the feeding port to the discharge port. The ball milling time calculated under this ideal state is the minimum grinding time.

The filling rate of the ball mill is 40%. If the slurry level reaches 50% filling rate, the slurry will flow out automatically. Except for the space occupied by the steel ball itself (except for the gap between the steel balls), the actual occupied space of the pulp is assumed to be effective for the ball mill. 25% of the volume (the steel ball gap accounts for 15% + (the water level is 50% - the filling rate is 40%))

The pulp should have a volume of 18.5*25%=4.56m3 in the ball mill.

Then the minimum grinding time = 4.56/1.35=3.38min

Note: When the grinding time is the shortest grinding time, it is ideal when the large block is directly ground to the granule size, and there is no over-grinding phenomenon. This value is only for theoretical calculation. The average grinding time on site is higher than this value. The actual grinding time is also summarized on site.
